I made this teapot out of a white porcelain clay body. I threw it on the potter's wheel, trimmed the bottom with a foot ring so the bottom is glazed as well. The handle and spout have been pulled and attached to the pot when the clay is still wet. There is a thumb rest on the handle for ease of pouring. The exterior decoration is a transfer technique which is a silkscreening technique of a ferns and dragonflies in a soft green. The patterns are sealed permanently into the clay by the glazing process. A clear glaze is over the exterior of the piece where the transfer is. The knob, spout, rim and handle are glazed a soft celadon green. It holds approximately 46 oz. Please appreciate the slight variations and imperfections that are the signs of hand made pottery. 5.5" tall x 5" wide x 10.5"long. It pours well. Please warm this pot up with hot tap water before pouring boiling water in it to avoid thermal shock to the porcelain. Signed "Sullivan, Canada" on the bottom. Holds approximately 4 cups.
