Porcelain Pottery Mug with Black Stained Glass Floral
I make my mugs out of a white porcelain clay body. I throw them on the potter's wheel, trim the bottoms with a foot ring so the bottoms are glazed as well. Each handle has been pulled and attached to the cup individually, so each cup has great character. Almost all of my handles are designed for two normal sized fingers, and the interiors of the mugs range from 8 oz to 16 oz, depending on height and width, these are approximately 8 oz. The exterior decoration is a transfer technique which is a silkscreening technique. The patterns are sealed permanently into the clay by the glazing process. A clear glaze is over the exterior, a coloured liner glaze cheers you up. There are drips of green and turquoise on the exterior of this cup to add colour interest to the surface. Please appreciate the slight variations and imperfections that are the signs of hand made pottery. The stained glass floral mug is approximately 3.75" tall x 3.5" wide. The liner glaze is a soft celadon green. Dishwasher/microwave safe. Signed "Sullivan, Canada" on the bottom.
