Sculpture: Horse with Energetic Arabesques

I have been making these horses since 2006. Inspired by Chinese tomb figures, the first one of this series was purchases by our Canadian government and graces the halls of our embassy in Bangkok, Thailand I hand build these hollow then carve and decorate the surface when it is still wet clay.

This horse is carved with an energetic arabesque, accented by transfers of arabesques under a magical glaze blend of golds, turquoises and olive greens.  8" deep by 19" wide and 17" in height! 

Surface is a wonderful medley of turquoise, olive green, gold. As with all of my sculptures these are meant for indoor enjoyment only.
