Wall Fish: Coho Salmon with White Arabesque
My very popular wall fish have been swimming away in schools over the last few years. Here's a new one for summer 2021! I build these hollow then I carve and decorate the surface with transfers. On this coho salmon I have carved an arabesque pattern on the top accentuated with small circlular dots glazed a contrasting turquoise. The fins are decorated with another arabesque transfer pattern that breaks through the dry matte sand coloured glaze. Golds, soft turquoise, olive greens, brown/black. I love the complexity of this piece and the feeling that it is ancient! If you have ever heard me talk about the magic of the kiln this piece is a prime example. Hangs on two holes in the back, so they can swim! Indoor enjoyment only. Signed "Sullivan" and Canada on the back.19" long x 10.5"tall x 3" deep. Please note these larger fish require extensive packaging, which is why the price is so much more than the guppies, but worth it!
If you are considering a larger school, take a look at the photo with the guppy couple from the same kiln load. Stunning.
