Wall Work: Meditation Mask with Lotus Flower

These were new for me spring of 2020! I was trying to capture the magic of the seated and standing figures' faces. I am super happy with the results. They have presence. Ironically I came up with "meditation mask" before the pandemic hit. I built this hollow then I carved a lotus flower over the 3rd eye chakra. A transfer of a similar pattern is on the rest of the surface under a deep turquoise glaze. I love the detail on this mask. The glazes are black and navy, olive green and gold with creamy white on the flowers. I strive to make it look ancient. It hangs on two holes in the back. Indoor enjoyment only. Signed "Sullivan" and Canada on the back. 11" wide x 12.5"high.
