Inspired by Chinese tomb figures, I have thought of them as monks, as nuns and more recently simply as meditating figures. I hand build these hollow then carve and decorate the surface when it is still wet clay. All those little dots that fill in the surface of this piece were made with the top of a ball point pen. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese are a series of smaller contemplatives. This figure is carved with a lotus flower over the heart and root chakras. Truly a serene figure.6\" deep by 8\" wide and 18\" in height!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSurface is a wonderful medley of turquoise, gold and cream glazes. As with all of my sculptures these are meant for indoor enjoyment only. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSigned Sullivan on the body.
