Porcelain Pottery Jar with Green Ferns/Dragonflies and 3Gold Dragonflies 02
A tall jar decorated with green ferns and dragonflies in an underglaze transfer and 3 sumptuous 22k gold dragonflies along the elongated neck.
This pot is approximately 12" tall x 6.5" wide(exterior measurement) and would be suitable as an urn. It holds 16 cups or 148 ounces. Good lid fit. I provide a tack that secures the lid impermanently.
I made this out of a white porcelain clay body. I threw it on the potter's wheel. The exterior decoration is a transfer technique which is a silkscreening technique of green dragonflies and ferns as well as 3 overglaze gold decals of dragonflies sealed permanently on in a third kiln firing. The patterns are sealed permanently into the clay by the glazing process. A clear glaze is over the entire piece.
Please appreciate the slight variations and imperfections that are the signs of hand made pottery. Signed "Sullivan, Canada" on the bottom.
