Porcelain Pottery Footed Vase with Full Colour and Gold Butterflies Large
NEW PATTERN. A limited edition series. The butterfly is a symbol for Mother in Asian cultures.
This is an elegant classic Chinese vase shape decorated with a variety of blue and 22k gold butterlies. Heavy bottom to support blooms. I made this out of a white porcelain clay body. I threw it on the potter's wheel in 2 pieces, and joined the pieces when they were still wet clay giving you the elegant classic profile. The exterior decoration is a decal transfer technique put on top of the clear glaze and sealed permanently on in a third kiln firing. The patterns are sealed permanently into the clay by the glazing process. Please appreciate the slight variations and imperfections that are the signs of hand made pottery. This pot is approximately 1.5" tall x 5" wide(exterior measurement). Signed "Sullivan, Canada" on the bottom.
