NEW PATTERN. A limited edition series. The butterfly is a symbol for Mother in Asian cultures.

This is an elegant shape suggesting the art deco movement. It is decorated with multicoloured blue and white gold butterlies that read like silver. Heavy bottom to support blooms. I made this out of a white porcelain clay body.  I basically finished this piece with a clear glaze over the entire white surface, fired twice, then applied overglaze gold decals of butterflies as well as multicoloured painterly decals in purples/pinks of butterflies that are fired in to the surface of the clear glaze in a third kiln firing.

The patterns are sealed permanently into the clay by the glazing process. A clear glaze is over the entire piece. Please appreciate the slight variations and imperfections that are the signs of hand made pottery. This pot is approximately 8" tall x 4.5" wide(exterior measurement). Signed "Sullivan, Canada" on the bottom.
