Ceramic sculpture of an elephant with raised trunk. Hand built hollow out of stoneware clay, and decorated with an all over body carving of an arabesque. The ears and saddle have a new arabesque transfer, that is the foundation of the carved surface. Dominant colours are charcoal, gold and navy. Be sure to look at the detail photos of this piece, it is rich and fascinating. PLEASE NOTE THE BLACK GLAZE DRIPS. This is part of the process of glazing this type of piece. Signed, "Sullivan".
