Wall Work: Large Meditation Mask with Cherry Blossoms and 2 Hummingbirds

These were new for me spring of 2020! I was trying to capture the magic of the seated and standing figures' faces. I am super happy with the results. They have presence. I build these hollow then I decorate the surfaces through carving of the cherry blossoms and hummingbirds. The glazes are a golden colour, soft turquoise on the background, a creamy white over the flowers. It hangs on two holes in the back. Indoor enjoyment only. Signed "Sullivan" and Canada on the back. 11" wide x 12.5"high.
